Core Scientific's second Texas bitcoin-to-AI conversion after Denton, and its biggest: the 300 MW Cottonwood mining campus outside the city of Pecos (Reeves County) is being rebuilt toward 1.5 GW gross / 1.0 GW leasable high-density AI colocation on a hybrid grid-plus-BTM power design, with the first data hall up in 2026 and initial capacity due early 2027.
