Oracle backs more than 1.7 GW of Texas wind generation to match its Texas AI data centers' use

Oracle says it has invested in Texas wind projects totalling more than 1.7 GW, which will sell power into ERCOT while moving Oracle toward matching 100% of the electricity used by its current Texas AI data centers, including Abilene, with carbon-free generation. Oracle says the projects are expected to produce as much electricity in a year as more than 525,000 U.S. homes use. The 1.7 GW is generation on the grid, not supply dedicated to a campus and not new Oracle data center load.
