PUC chair says doing nothing on the 765 kV build-out is not an option, as industry warns of Permian blackouts

Thomas Gleeson, chair of the Public Utility Commission, said Texas cannot leave the 765 kV transmission build-out where it is: "I don't believe we have an option of doing nothing." The plan has stalled under landowner and legislative opposition, and 30 members of the Texas House have asked the commission to deny it. The reliability case came with figures.
