San Angelo mandates closed-loop data center cooling with hard caps on city water draw
The City Council voted 7-0 on June 16 to adopt City Code Section 11.02.043 ("Data Center"), requiring any data center to use closed-loop cooling (evaporative cooling is prohibited) capping the initial fill at 8.0 gallons per square foot of gross building area within 12 months of certificate of occupancy, and limiting annual make-up water to 3% of loop volume per building.
